Wisconsin Golden Hour Engagement Session

This picture-perfect golden hour engagement session was all we could have hoped for. High Cliff State Park of Fox Cities, WI offered the perfect tower to climb, giving us this breathtaking hazy sunset back drop and no background noise. Even better, this exact spot is where the engagement happened just weeks before.

Alex and Nicole are blissful. Effortlessly happy together, and go with the flow. There was such a chill in the air this night, and they powered through an hour of photos with pink cheeks and frozen fingers. But as you will see, every shot was worth it!

After several perfect, yes, absolutely perfect, photos at the top of this lookout tower where Alex popped the question, we could have honestly called it a night and gone home to a warm blanket and cup of coffee. But these troopers, to my absolute joy, asked if we could scope out one more spot.

Absolutely. Yes, please let’s bask in this perfect sunset.

Alex recalled spotting a small, but picturesque sandy beach on the drive through the state park as they were making their way to the lookout tower. A beach at sunset?! Too good to be true. So, of course we retraced our drive in to find this beach, and get to work.

The golden sun. A hazy sky. Just the right amount of chill to put color in our faces. So many aspects of this moment were a dream.

I believe we would have taken pictures for another hour if the sun would have stayed suspended for us that much more.

And as I usually do, I made my way home and went immediately to my computer to offload these magical pictures. All I had on my mind was applying the gentlest edits to bring out the suns glow, and get these keepsakes in the hands of the bride and groom to be.

Sincerely, this was one of my favorite sessions to date.
